The following will show you how to build and program the Raspberry Pi to use a thermistor to take temperature measurements of a room. A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is based on temperature. There are two different types of thermistors: Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) and Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC). NTC’s resistances decrease with temperature, whereas PTC resistances increase with temperature to protect against over current conditions.
