衡含水率(EMC): 湿材置于干燥的环境下中,木材的水分会向周围空气中蒸发。在纤维饱和点以下,每当周围相对湿度发生变化,木材细胞壁中吸着水量也相应地变化。若周围空气的温度较低,细胞壁中的水蒸气分压比空气中的大,则水分由木材向空气中蒸发,使得吸着水含量减少,该现象叫解吸。解吸过程初期,木材的水分蒸发很强烈,随后解吸过程渐缓,最后达到动态平衡或稳定,此时的木材含水率叫解吸稳定含水率。
当周围的湿度较高时,细胞壁中的水蒸气的分压比空气中吸湿,使得吸着水含量增大,此现象为吸湿。木材含水率在吸湿过程中达到稳定值叫吸湿稳定含水率。细薄木料在一定的空气状态下,最后达到解吸稳定含水率或吸湿稳定含水率,叫平衡含水率。
