本文从高效管理信息出发，结合我系资料室的具体情况，探索了高校资料管理的系列方法。这些方法主要是针对如何让资料室工作人员摆脱繁琐重复的工作，实现对资料轻松，便捷，高速的管理，拓宽读者与工作人员沟通的渠道。在此基础上，还设计和开发了一套资料室管理系统，该系统基于SQL Server 2000数据库，采用Java语言作为开发工具，用Struts框架架构经过初步测试，系统运行稳定，操作简便，界面友好，适宜进一步推广。

该系统主要分为三个模块，即资料管理模块，读者管理模块，消息管理模块。资料管理模块主要的功能是对资料的添加，删除，修改与检索。读者管理模块的主要功能是对读者的添加删除，修改，检索以及借阅与归还的管理。消息发布模块的主要功能是管理员发布一些生要消息以达到通知的效果。
