The Windows Driver Foundation (WDF) includes fr a meworks to support the development of both user-mode and kernel-mode drivers. The user-mode driver fr a mework (UMDF) enables drivers for some types of devices to run in user mode instead of kernel mode. This paper describes the architecture of the user-mode driver fr a mework and explains how drivers interact with the fr a mework to service their devices.
