本次所要设计的医用呼叫系统，目的是为减少成本的投入、简化电路。正是在要求医疗设备日益自动化的背景下，为了满足人们对医疗设备需求而设计的。病房呼叫系统的任务是病人能随时方便的呼叫医护人员，而医护人员能根据接收到的信号准确地辨别出呼叫病人的床位以便能进行及时的护理。呼叫系统不能影响病房的其他病人，它的安装、维修及使用均十分简便，符合医院的环境标准。
